Good Bonobo, Bad Bonobo

We are not alone... in the moral universe that is.

Veteran primatolologist Frans De Waal, an expert in the behavior of chimpanzees argues convincingly that they exhibit a full range of “human” attachments, affects, and emotions. They love, feel loss, sulk, get angry, have fights, and make up. They abide by rules that give order to their community and encourage cooperation.

In his book, "The Bonobo and the Atheist: In Search of Humanism Among Primates," De Waal explains how these primate behavioral traits evolved, just as they evolved in humans.
